INE SAKA, PMHNP, FNP-BC

Ine Saka is a Nurse Practitioner, board-certified as both a Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Walden University in 2017, and later completed her Master's of Science in Nursing as  Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, at Maryville University in 2023. Her medical experience began with Oncology and Movement Disorder pharmaceutical research, working on clinical trials with the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins. In the hospital setting, Ine specialized in medical-surgical care, intensive care, and telemetry.

As a child, Ine’s mother used holistic medicine and spirituality as tools for raising and caring for Ine as she developed into womanhood.  It was her wholesome and mindful upbringing that nurtured her decision to join the healthcare field. After her first year in healthcare, she observed that a large number of her patients lacked basic knowledge of holistic approaches to their mental and physical health.  Observing this misalignment in her patients sparked her vision of a medical practice, where she would integrate Western medicine practices with holistic approaches to her patient’s healthcare. In 2020, she founded the Empathy Wellness Center in Richmond, Virginia.  The Empathy Wellness Center offers holistic and modern-day approaches to primary healthcare and psychiatric health.  Ine’s acquired understanding of the connection between gut health, mental health, and overall wellness later sparked her interest in colon hydrotherapy.  She is now certified by I-ACT as a Colon Hydrotherapist and currently offers colon hydrotherapy as a service at her wellness center along with group healing circles for the community.

Her passions include patient education, community health promotion, yoga, and improving access to healthcare for indigent and underserved populations. She believes that quality patient care should welcome transparency in a non-judgmental setting while placing special emphasis on patients' physical and mental state of being.
Ine’s work as a practitioner is inspired by the concept that patient-centered care perpetuates a state of wellness in our patients, their families, and henceforth, our communities.
